Service Technician

Robert Davies Machinery Ltd is a small, friendly, family-run business with a loyal customer base specialising in new and used machinery. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and product support.

We are recruiting for an experienced Service Technician, with a passion for after-sales care of machinery. We are looking for someone ideally with significant experience to carry out diagnostics, service, and repair work on our full range of Manitou Agricultural and compact equipment but also to provide support to our KUHN Specialist Baler team, as well as Shelbourne feeders and additional supplier machinery.

You will be working alongside our experienced service technicians and reporting to our service manager to support the large customer base of Robert Davies Machinery.

  • Working hours 8:00am-5.00pm Monday-Friday. Part-time may be available dependent on experience (minimum 3 days per week)
  • Saturday working on a rota basis
  • Up to 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays) depending on length of service
  • Base Salary from £25,000 to £45,000 dependent on experience
  • Overtime opportunities at time and a half. Double time on Sundays/Bank Holidays
  • Company Van provided

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural or plant equipment in a workshop and/or field environment
  • Completes all reports and administration required in a timely manner and to a high quality (job cards, time sheets)
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintains a clean work environment, assists with overall workshop organisation, ensures correct use of tools and vehicles at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of a variety of machinery ideally in the agricultural, commercial vehicle or construction industry. Ideally have a relevant qualification within the field of Land Based Engineering
  • Ability to interact with customers and develop/build a relationship that ultimately delivers a positively satisfying experience
  • Ability to deliver appropriate communication both internally and externally to allow planning and continued work to be effectively completed
  • Ability to set timescales to own tasks to enable completion of duties and to ensure all tasks are carried out within a timely manner whilst not compromising safety
  • Present a professional image at all times
  • Must carry a full driving licence

Parts Advisor

We are looking to recruit a Parts Advisor to join our team at our depot between Welshpool and Shrewsbury. We are looking for someone that will be responsible for selling, receiving and organizing the delivery of parts for Robert Davies Machinery.

Robert Davies Machinery sells a full range of Manitou agricultural and compact equipment and a range of parts for Kuhn, Richard Western, Shelbourne Reynolds and a number of other leading machinery brands. You will be working alongside our experienced Parts advisors to support the large customer base of Robert Davies Machinery.

Parts Advisor responsibilities include:

  • The Parts Advisor is responsible for the selling, receiving and organising the delivery of parts
  • Promote and sell parts for all franchises held by Robert Davies Machinery and/or services to meet customer needs, by telephone and face to face
  • Processing parts using our computer system and booking parts to customers or taking payments as required
  • Ensure parts orders are ready for customer collection or packaged for courier/postal delivery
  • Supply parts to Service Technicians including identifying parts required, picking them from our stores or ordering them to the relevant job number
  • Verify receipts of incoming deliveries, including booking stock onto the management system, locating in the stores and notifying the workshop or customer as required
  • Maintain control of stock levels and assist with stock takes
  • Process delivery notes and invoices as needed

Candidate Requirements

  • Self-motivated and have the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience in parts sales environment is ideal, experience using Ibcos Gold software preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of machinery components and how they work would be beneficial.
  • To be comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a range of different customer needs and requirements from day to day.

This is a full-time position for 42.5 hours per week with Saturday mornings on a rota basis. We may consider part-time for the right candidate.

Trainee Parts Advisor

Robert Davies Machinery Ltd is a independent, friendly, family-run business with a loyal customer base specialising in new and used machinery. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and product support.

We are looking to recruit a Trainee Parts Advisor to join our team at our depot between Welshpool and Shrewsbury. The trainee will develop skills in a number of areas including handling, storing and receiving stock, procedures, identifying, sourcing and ordering parts. Monitoring and solving customer problems/enquiries and processing customer’s orders.

Robert Davies Machinery supplies a full range of Manitou agricultural and compact equipment and a range of parts for Kuhn, Richard Western, Shelbourne Reynolds and a number of other leading machinery brands. You will be working alongside our experienced Parts Advisors to support the large customer base of Robert Davies Machinery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with customers on the telephone and face to face
  • Identifying parts from an electronic parts catalogue
  • Ordering parts from our manufacturers
  • Checking in orders and receipting in through our management system
  • Creating invoices and taking payments
  • Assisting with general administration within the parts department

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent (A*-C/9-4 in English and maths required).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.

What we offer

  • Salary £20,000-£25,000 per annum
  • Any overtime can be accrued and taken in lieu as desired.
