Agricultural Cooling Fans

Using Pile-Dry Pedestals and Pile-Dry Fans To Cool Grain:          Pile-Dry Pedestals and Fans are the most powerful low volume crop ventilation system available, delivering an airflow of more than 10m3/hour/tonne and, if ambient conditions allow, able to cool grain to below 15°C within 2 weeks of harvest and down to 5°C before Christmas.

To get the best cooling results from Pile-Dry Pedestals and Fans:

  • Use at least one fan per 4 Pedestals
  • Increase this quantity for faster cooling
  • Move the fans between Pedestals as the crop cools
  • Use Automatic Fan Control to save energy and achieve the fastest cooling

Using Pile-Dry Pedestals and Pile-Dry Fans To Dry Grain:       Pile-Dry Agricultural Cooling Fans sustain high airflow at high pressure. This, coupled with the high free airspace in the perforated Pile-Dry Pedestal ducts, means they will dry grain effectively in favourable ambient conditions. There have been examples of drying grain from as high as 35% or, more typically, from 19% to below 15% with no loss of quality.

To get the best drying results from Pile-Dry Pedestals and Fans:

  • Use more fans for faster drying
  • If the grain is above c.18% moisture, use one fan per Pedestal
  • Use Automatic Fan Control to make the best use of dry ambient air when it is available
